Coco Zhang-Miske is the Global Technology Planning Manager for Buick, GMC, and GM China Strategy at General Motors, where she is responsible for managing overarching in-vehicle technology strategy and developing ideas based on technology intelligence and trends. Coco joined GM in 2007; her previous work experience at GM includes Engineering Business Manager for Global Infotainment and OnStar Engineering, Project Manager, Design Release Engineer, Lead Engineer, Validation/Development Lead for Global Electrification in Product Development, and Subject Matter Expert for AGV Systems in Global Manufacturing Engineering. An electrical engineer specializing in advanced energy processes and systems, Coco earned her master’s degree in Energy Systems Engineering at the University of Michigan, and her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. Coco was the recipient of a 2014 Crain’s Detroit Business 40 under 40 award, 2015 TechWeek 100 and more recently received Young Alumni Award – the highest recognition award by MSU, as well as the 2016 APACC Salute to Excellence Award. Coco is a dedicated volunteer and active community leader serving numerous non-profit organizations, including founder/president for NAAAP Detroit, board of director for Council of Asian-Pacific Americans, and advisor for the Detroit Chinese Engineers Association. Prior to attending MSU, Coco graduated from the Beijing Academy of Dance and enjoyed a successful career performing classical Chinese dance as an operatic dancer with the China Operatic Dance Troupe. Alongside her career in Classical Chinese Dance, Coco was also a model and actress in various commercials, TV-shows, magazines, and short films. Coco loves spicy food. She does not like goat cheese.
