Tom Fletcher is the vice president of Energy Services Engineering and Innovation within the Trane Commercial Business Unit of Ingersoll Rand. Tom leads a global team responsible for building automation systems development, quality, productivity, and sustainment. In addition, Tom leads innovation activity across of Trane Commercial, and product related cyber security advancements across IR. Over the past 14 years at Ingersoll Rand, Tom has lead the creation of a new generation of Trane Controls, integrated geographically dispersed controls engineering teams, advanced the state of connected buildings, improved business processes to “do the right new products the right way,” and created offshore development capability to support Ingersoll Rand’s growth. Tom’s engineering team identifies and leverages new technology while driving quality, consistency, and efficiency into product & technology development. Working closely across the organization to define and create the “next generation” architecture for future building controls and services. Prior to joining Ingersoll Rand, Tom spent 19 years with Honeywell. While there he progressed in a variety of engineering leadership roles at the corporate and business unit level. Before moving to management, Tom was awarded nine patents and three technical awards, and published several technical papers. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University, and a MBA from the University of St. Thomas. He is also a Six Sigma Black Belt.
